EMT Technician
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides pre-hospital medical care, responds to urgent patient situations, and ensures safe transport to healthcare facilities. This role requires quick decision-making, delivery of life-saving interventions, and clear communication with medical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Response & Patient Care:
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical assistance.
- Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate pre-hospital care procedures.
- Administer basic life support (BLS), including CPR, airway management, and wound care.
- Stabilize patients experiencing trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or other urgent medical situations.
- Monitor vital signs and deliver initial treatment prior to hospital admission.
Patient Transport & Safety:
- Safely transport patients to hospitals or medical facilities using ambulances.
- Ensure proper handling and movement of critically ill or injured patients.
- Communicate detailed patient condition reports to emergency room staff.
Medical Equipment Handling:
- Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment such as defibrillators, oxygen tanks, and stretchers.
- Ensure ambulance supplies are fully stocked and equipment is in working condition.
- Clean and maintain emergency equipment according to hospital and safety protocols.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of patient conditions, treatments, and interventions.
- Follow local, state, and hospital regulations for emergency medical services.
- Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety guidelines.
Team Collaboration & Training:
- Work closely with paramedics, nurses, and emergency physicians in high-pressure situations.
- Assist in training first responders and emergency medical teams.
- Participate in emergency drills, continuing education sessions, and skill development programs.
