Resident Medical Officer
The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through medical supervision, assisting senior physicians, and managing urgent medical situations. This role includes direct patient management, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to support patient recovery and ensure efficient hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Management & Clinical Services:
- Perform initial patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
- Deliver continuous medical care, ensuring timely interventions for admitted patients.
- Monitor patient progress, maintain accurate case records, and update consultants on critical cases.
- Support medical procedures, assist in minor surgeries, and manage post-operative care.
- Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain strict infection control standards.
Emergency & Critical Care Support:
- Collaborate closely with senior consultants, specialists, nurses, and paramedical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Coordinate with diagnostic, radiology, and pharmacy teams to ensure timely test results and proper medication management.
- Participate in hospital meetings, case discussions, and continuing medical education (CME) programs to support professional growth.
Patient Interaction & Family Communication:
- Guide and counsel patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Provide compassionate support and address patient concerns with empathy and understanding.
- Communicate clearly with relatives about patient conditions, prognosis, and medical procedures.
Coordination & Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior consultants, specialists, nurses, and paramedical staff to ensure holistic patient care.
- Liaise with diagnostic, radiology, and pharmacy teams to ensure timely test results and effective medication management.
- Engage in hospital meetings, case reviews, and continuing medical education (CME) programs to support professional development.
